TAP RESUMES DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN LISBON AND CARACAS ON 27 OCTOBER

The airline is once again operating direct flights between the capitals of Portugal and Venezuela, with two flights a week

TAP Air Portugal resumes direct flights between Lisbon and Caracas from 27 October with connecting flights from London, Manchester and Dublin, restoring a connection of particular importance to the Portuguese and Portuguese-descendant community living in Venezuela.

The route between Lisbon and Caracas, which was suspended following the earthquake that struck Venezuela, will resume with two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays.

On Tuesdays, the flight departs from Lisbon at 11.50 am, arriving in Caracas at 5.00 pm. In the opposite direction, it departs from the Venezuelan capital at 9.00 pm and arrives in Lisbon at 9.00 am the following day.

On Sundays, the flight from Lisbon is scheduled to depart at 10.00 am, arriving in Caracas at 3.05 pm. The return flight departs at 6.55 pm and lands in Lisbon at 6.55 am the following day.

Return flights are available from 669 euros, with all taxes included, on www.flytap.com and through travel agents.

The return of the direct service to Caracas revives a route of particular importance for relations between Portugal and Venezuela. For the large Portuguese and Portuguese-descendant community in the country, the resumption of the direct flight also represents the re-establishment of a closer link with Portugal.

Throughout the time that flights to Caracas were suspended, TAP remained committed to Venezuela and to the Portuguese community in the country, notably through its service to Valencia. The airline will continue to support this community and to ensure connectivity between Venezuela and Portugal, strengthening the historical, human, and economic ties between the two countries.

With the resumption of flights to Caracas, TAP is strengthening its offering in the Venezuelan market and its role in connecting Portugal to Portuguese communities abroad.

TAP Air Portugal currently flies from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester airport in the UK and from Dublin in Ireland to Lisbon and Porto with onward connections to Brazil, Africa, Madeira, Azores, the USA and Canada.  TAP has a stop over programme allowing passengers to stop in either Lisbon or Porto on long haul journeys for up to 10 days for no additional air fare.
