UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS – BCD Travel and Mobilexpense are deepening their strategic alliance to connect travel and expense management across Europe. The expanded collaboration strengthens their proposition for organisations and international companies with significant European operations. Moreover, it combines BCD’s global expertise with Mobilexpense’s more than 20 years of expense-management experience.
The partnership builds on Mobilexpense’s position as a BCD Marketplace partner since 2022. Together, the companies have developed an integrated ecosystem powered by shared data. This will connect booking and expense processes, reduce manual work and give travel and finance teams clearer visibility into trip costs.
New integrations connect booking and expenses
The collaboration supports BCD’s Open by Design approach. This gives customers greater flexibility to connect best-of-breed travel and expense solutions. Consequently, organisations do not need to consolidate their operations onto one closed platform.
New integrations will introduce several capabilities between BCD’s Tripsource platform and Mobilexpense. These include real-time expense report creation, automated invoice image flows and single sign-on (SSO).
The connected process will create a more complete trip record with fewer manual handoffs. It will also reduce duplicated entries and simplify expense completion for travellers. Meanwhile, travel teams will gain stronger programme insights. Finance teams will benefit from improved traceability, control and reconciliation.
“Our advanced partnership with Mobilexpense is part of BCD’s ongoing investment in expense management, particularly for our European customers,” said Yannis Karmis, Executive Vice President of Product Planning & Development at BCD. “As a customer of Mobilexpense ourselves, BCD trusts their technology and expertise. We’re bringing together two best-of-breed solutions to control and optimize travel and expense management.”
European requirements shape the partnership
Mobilexpense serves a client base similar to BCD’s. Its customers range from local SMEs and mid-market businesses to multinational enterprises. Furthermore, its European footprint makes the platform particularly relevant to the expanded alliance.
The platform combines expense management and payment capabilities. It also includes features designed around European requirements. These cover daily allowances and country-specific compliance needs.
“The total cost of travel isn’t just the booking. It’s taxis, parking, meals, per diems and all the other expenses. That can get chaotic fast. Tripsource handles the booking, and together BCD Travel and Mobilexpense connect those expenses automatically, giving companies a clearer picture of the total trip cost without creating extra work for travelers and finance teams,” said Jonas Colombe, CEO at Mobilexpense.
Broader connectivity planned for 2027
The companies plan deeper two-way connectivity between Tripsource and Mobilexpense. They expect to make this available to customers in 2027. In the meantime, both organisations will continue developing integrations and engaging with customers. They will also work on future enhancements to support a more connected travel and expense journey.
BCD Travel and Mobilexpense will present the connected experience at GBTA Europe in Vienna. The event takes place from 2 to 4 November 2026.
