The Countdown to the ForRangers Ultramarathon Begins

ForRangers Ultra Marathon

Next week, Ker & Downey World Travel’s Amy Willis takes on an endurance race with purpose beyond the finish line.

More Than a Race

The ForRangers Ultra Marathon is not simply a test of endurance, but a mission. A mission to support wildlife rangers by stepping into their shoes. Created in 2018 through a partnership between ForRangers and Beyond the Ultimate, this extraordinary race brings together individuals from around the world to support the rangers who continuously place themselves between Africa’s wildlife and poachers. What began with just 40 runners has grown into a global movement, raising critical funds for conservation on the ground.

Running with Purpose

Amy Willis is taking on one of the world’s most demanding endurance challenges – not for the recognition, but in support of those who rarely receive it. Each step she takes across Kenya reflects the courage and resilience of the wildlife rangers she runs alongside in spirit – individuals who protect endangered species and safeguard fragile ecosystems under extraordinary conditions.

“Every kilometer she covers is a powerful statement of solidarity with the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting Kenya’s wildlife... Her efforts remind us that conservation is a shared responsibility.” - Joy Ndinda, Head of Communications and Development Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
