Training at AIDA Headquarters on Land
Three aspiring tourism management assistants, three office management assistants, and one event management assistant are beginning their training at AIDA Cruises in Rostock. In addition, eight trainees are starting as dialogue marketing assistants and one is training as a digitalization management assistant at the AIDA Customer Center. The group is rounded out by four dual-study students in the Business Administration program.
To kick things off, the new recruits can expect a joint onboarding program. Even before their official start, they were able to gain initial insights into the world of AIDA during a visit aboard AIDAmar. In the coming days, they will get to know their teams, the various business units, and the corporate culture of AIDA Cruises before embarking on diverse tasks in an international work environment after the initial training period.

New Cadets Set Sail
At the same time, 24 cadets are currently on a two-week sailing trip aboard the civilian sail training ship “Großherzogin Elisabeth” (Grand Duchess Elisabeth). The training voyage takes the aspiring officers from the nautical science, marine engineering, and marine electrical engineering programs from Elsfleth through the Kiel Canal, along the German Baltic coast, and back through the Skagerrak.
Aboard the “Lissi,” the young officers experience maritime life firsthand right at the start of their careers and learn basic seamanship skills such as setting sails, standing watch, and navigation. For many years, this traditional training has been a key component on the path to nautical and technical officer careers at AIDA Cruises. Immediately following the cruise, the cadets begin their first onboard assignment on an AIDA ship, before starting their first theoretical courses in the lecture halls of the Rostock-Warnemünde and Wismar universities next year.
