The leisure airline will launch nonstop flights from Frankfurt to all three destinations while Glasgow will also be served from Munich. The airline says the new Frankfurt routes will be the only nonstop services between the German hub and Bristol, Glasgow and Inverness.
Glasgow is also notable because Discover Airlines will take over the Munich connection previously operated by Lufthansa.
The new routes will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft, with flight times of around two hours.
The expansion will give Discover Airlines up to 11 weekly flights to the UK during summer 2027. The airline already operates a weekly summer service between Frankfurt and Shannon in Ireland, launched in April 2026.
Three routes, different travel angles
The Frankfurt-Glasgow service will start March 29, 2027, with up to six weekly flights. The Munich-Glasgow route follows on May 16, with up to two weekly flights.
Frankfurt-Bristol launches May 17 with two weekly flights, while Frankfurt-Inverness starts June 19 with one weekly service.
The new destinations are positioned as gateways to rural landscapes and outdoor experiences, reflecting growing interest in combining nature, culture and active travel.
Bristol provides access to southwest England and the Cotswolds, known for its rolling countryside and traditional stone villages.
Glasgow offers a gateway to Scotland’s Highlands, while Inverness provides access to the northern Highlands and Loch Ness. The latter remains one of Scotland’s best-known visitor attractions, thanks in part to the enduring legend of the Loch Ness Monster.
Marco Götz, Chief Commercial Officer of Discover Airlines, said the airline is seeing a clear trend toward nature, outdoor activities and trips combining cultural and landscape experiences.
The UK expansion also comes as airlines continue to reshape short-haul networks around Germany’s major airports, with Discover Airlines increasingly targeting leisure-oriented routes alongside its longer-haul vacation program.
The new flights are already available for booking through Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, German tour operators and travel agencies.
Summer 2027 schedule:
Frankfurt–Glasgow: up to six weekly, from March 29
Munich–Glasgow: up to two weekly, from May 16
Frankfurt–Bristol: two weekly, from May 17
Frankfurt–Inverness: one weekly, from June 19
