Bohemian Savannah Riverfront reopens as Hotel Orielle

The Bohemian Savannah Riverfront has relaunched as Hotel Orielle, an Autograph Collection Hotel.

The name Orielle takes inspiration from the 1800s three-panel oriel window. The new title reflects Savannah’s past, paying homage to the Romantic era and “a city filled with quiet elegance and a creative spirit that ignites curiosity.”

“This new identity best reflects the hotel’s personality and the expectations of today’s traveler, while remaining part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program,” said Ciarán Gardiner, GM. “Its story has been years in the making, welcoming guests to Savannah’s riverfront and forging visits and moments that have a unique way of calling people back and understanding it differently each time. The best stories aren’t always the loudest; they’re the ones that stay with you, and Hotel Orielle simply invites guests to notice them.”

The 75-room hotel offers Rocks on the Roof—the tallest rooftop along River Street—which features a nightly ritual: brass spyglass binoculars are purposefully placed throughout the space at dusk each evening to encourage a closer look at Savannah at sunset.

New artwork introduces pieces in various mediums, reflecting the hotel’s riverfront setting and Savannah’s distinct character. The lobby features a three-panel mixed media installation by SCAD alumna Lillian Blades that channels the Lowcountry marsh landscape, complemented by an abstract floral painting by SCAD alumna and former professor Katherine Sandoz. Other art highlights include salon-style gallery installations, digital steampunk artwork and a 33-ft. custom graphic mural on the rooftop that blends key elements of Savannah and its maritime history.

The food and beverage program, helmed by Executive Chef Johnny Salaverria, includes Rocks on the Roof and Coastal 15 Fish House. A new menu at Coastal 15 captures the essence of a Southern fish house.
