The meeting took place as part of the Israel Tourism Recovery Forum (ITRF) and brought together government representatives and tourism industry executives. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation, increasing U.S. visitation, expanding air connectivity and supporting the recovery of Israel’s inbound tourism sector.
The United States remains Israel’s largest overseas tourism market. Participants discussed measures to rebuild traveller confidence, reinforce cooperation with the U.S. travel industry and encourage more American travellers to visit Israel.
Ambassador Huckabee said: “I will continue to be an ambassador for Israel wherever I go. I will continue encouraging Americans to visit Israel, experience it firsthand, and discover the reality for themselves.”
Michael Itzhakov, Director General of the Israel Ministry of Tourism, said: “Expanding direct air connectivity between the United States and Israel is essential to accelerating the recovery of inbound tourism. The Ministry is actively working with airline partners to encourage the return of existing routes and the launch of new connections that will make it easier for more Americans to experience Israel.”
The discussions included the role of direct air services in supporting tourism flows between the two countries. The Ministry said it is working with airline partners on the return of existing routes and the introduction of additional connections.
Yoram Elgrabli, Tourism Commissioner for North America at the Israel Ministry of Tourism, said: “American travelers have always played a vital role in Israel’s tourism industry, and strengthening the connection between the United States and Israel remains a key priority. We appreciate Ambassador Huckabee’s support and look forward to welcoming more visitors from across the United States to experience Israel’s rich history, culture, faith, culinary experiences, and hospitality.”
The meeting also addressed cooperation with airlines, travel professionals and other tourism partners as Israel works to increase visitor arrivals from the United States.
