Walter Cho, CEO and Chairman of Korean Air and Hanjin Group, finalized the four-year sponsorship during a meeting on the morning of June 4 at the U.S. Capitol with U.S. Senator Todd Young, a CEE Honorary Trustee, and Joann DiGennaro, President of CEE.
The CEE, a U.S.-based non-profit organization, provides advanced STEM education programs for high-achieving high school students and offers opportunities to network with leading business executives.
Korean Air will serve as an official sponsor for four years to fund scholarships for high school students selected for the CEE’s Research Science Institute (RSI) program. The airline will also host lectures on aviation technology and research and development for selected high school students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.
“As a global carrier, we aim to foster future talent in STEM fields, including the aviation sector,” said a Korean Air spokesperson. “Through this partnership, we look forward to providing international students with practical engagement opportunities while supporting academic programs that drive future industry innovation.”
