Korean Air conducts annual reforestation initiative in Mongolia

(Seoul, May 12, 2026) - Korean Air began its annual reforestation program in Baganuur, Mongolia, on May 11, continuing an initiative established in 2004 to mitigate regional desertification. The two-week project involves approximately 210 employees planting 1,000 trees and conducting maintenance across the 44-hectare (109-acre) Korean Air Forest.

Activities this year focus on sustaining the forest’s growth through replanting and pruning to ensure long-term viability. The site functions as a windbreak, reducing dust and sand from local mining operations for the surrounding community.

Alongside the reforestation efforts, Korean Air will host educational and athletic programs at Gungalutai and Bolovsrol National Schools. Employees facilitated aviation workshops where students learned basic aerodynamics through hands-on model aircraft construction. Additionally, players and coaches from the Korean Air Jumbos professional volleyball team led clinics to provide technical training and organize matches for local students.
