eDreams ODIGEO expands AI-driven engineering infrastructure

BARCELONA – eDreams ODIGEO has announced the expansion of its AI-driven engineering infrastructure, reporting increased development speed, higher engineering productivity and broader integration of generative AI technologies across its operations.

During a technical briefing with global investors, the company stated that its AI-first engineering model has accelerated software engineering capabilities by five times and significantly increased the speed of platform feature delivery.

According to the company, 100% of all new code in its most advanced development teams is now AI-generated under human command and design, allowing engineering resources to focus on higher-value strategic initiatives.

The company also reported a 47% year-on-year increase in engineering productivity, which it said has improved operational scalability and accelerated innovation capacity.

eDreams ODIGEO, listed on the BME under EDR and OTC under EDDRF, stated that its long-term AI investment strategy is intended to support its target of reaching 13 million subscribers by March 2030.

The company said its AI infrastructure enables technical teams to launch new business concepts to market at significantly faster speeds compared with previous development cycles.

During the investor presentation, management also outlined how conversational AI platforms such as Gemini and ChatGPT are becoming additional acquisition channels for the company.

According to eDreams ODIGEO, the complexity of travel operations, including IATA licensing, financial guarantees, inventory management and continuous customer support, positions the company as an operational fulfilment layer within the emerging AI ecosystem.

The company stated that it has deployed more than 100 Model Context Protocols (MCPs), an open standard that enables AI models to securely connect with external systems, data and software tools.

Through these integrations, conversational AI assistants are able to complete bookings directly through the company’s platform.

eDreams ODIGEO also stated that its infrastructure processes more than 100 terabytes of data daily, supporting its global network of applications and websites.

Dana Dunne, Chief Executive Officer of eDreams ODIGEO, said: “AI continues to rapidly redefine how people discover and book travel, but enduring leadership won’t come from access to models alone, it will come from the strength of the ecosystem behind them. We have spent over a decade building proprietary technology, deeply embedded subscription relationships and the operational infrastructure required to deliver travel seamlessly at global scale. That combination creates a moat that is exceptionally difficult to replicate, and we are glad we had the opportunity to showcase this in our inaugural AI Day.

“As the market evolves, our focus is not simply on adapting to AI, but on shaping how AI is applied across our entire customer journey, from inspiration and personalisation through to fulfilment and service. The companies that lead this transformation will be those that pair intelligence with execution, and that’s where we continue to set the standard.

“Our technical maturity and vision will ensure we continue to deliver unprecedented value to our subscribers and shareholders alike, while accelerating our path to exceed 13 million subscribers by 2030.”
