Ancasta Group announces new ownership structure

SOUTHAMPTON, UK – Ancasta Group, a UK and European yacht brokerage and new boat distribution company, has announced that Founder Nick Griffith has sold a majority shareholding in the business to Ancasta franchise owner Matthew Shave for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Southampton, Ancasta Group employs 103 people and reports an annual turnover exceeding £50 million. The Group includes a portfolio of specialist marine companies, such as Ancasta International Boat Sales, Sanlorenzo Yachts UK, PB Europe, Ancasta Yacht Services, Spencer Rigging and Advanced Rigging & Hydraulics.

Operating across 22 offices throughout Europe, the company represents a range of global power and sail brands and provides services spanning brokerage, distribution, refit, rigging and aftersales support.

Following the transaction, Shave will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, while Griffith will transition to Chairman, focusing on strategic oversight and supporting the executive team.

The ownership change marks a new stage in the Group’s development, with plans to build on its existing presence in brokerage and new boat sales, while expanding its franchise network and service offering.

Commenting on the transaction, Griffith said: “I am incredibly proud of what Ancasta has achieved over the past 25 years. Matthew is the right person to lead the business forward, and I look forward to supporting him in my new role as Chairman.”

Shave added: “Ancasta is a highly respected brand with a strong reputation across the marine industry. I am excited to take on this role and to work with the team to continue scaling the business, strengthening our partnerships with leading shipyards, and delivering high-quality, full-service solutions to our clients.”

Under the new ownership structure, Ancasta Group will continue to focus on growth, operational capability and the delivery of yachting services across its European network.
