Korean Air conducts year-end community engagement initiatives

(Seoul, December 29, 2025) - Korean Air has conducted a series of community engagement programs in Korea and abroad to conclude the year. Led by employee volunteer groups, the initiatives focused on community support and infrastructure improvements.

Joint upcycling project with Asiana Airlines

On December 29, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines held a joint donation event at the Gangseo Fire Station and Geon Children’s Home in Seoul. The two airlines delivered 350 upcycled safety keyrings and pouches repurposed from retired cabin crew uniforms and in-flight tablecloths. The keyrings are designed to function as personal safety devices, which emit a high-decibel alarm when pulled. The accompanying pouches feature design elements from both airlines, including decorative aircraft patches. Approximately 150 employees from both airlines co-located at Korean Air’s headquarters volunteered to assemble and package the items.

Charity concert for senior residents

On December 19, the airline’s employee choir, KE Choir, held a charity concert at the Deungchon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Along with the musical performance, the group provided winter supplies to local senior residents.

Educational facility support in Sri Lanka

From December 19 to 26, employee volunteer group Yonhap Shinwoohoe carried out a project in Elpitiya, Sri Lanka, an agricultural region located approximately 100km from Colombo. The team assisted with facility renovations at a local community center and handed out seasonal gifts to students in the area.

Year-end program at Holt Ilsan nursing home

On December 6, the airline’s cabin crew volunteer group, Dasom Nanum, hosted a year-end event for residents at the Holt Ilsan Center in Goyang. The program featured recreational activities and performances, and the group provided specially prepared meals and gifts for the residents

The airline currently operates 25 employee volunteer groups that engage in community engagement activities. The groups conduct various social contribution initiatives at home and abroad as part of the airline’s ESG management.

Korean Air will continue to expand its social contribution programs to support the communities it serves. The airline remains dedicated to leveraging its resources and personnel to drive positive social outcomes and maintain strong community ties worldwide.
