Under the partnership, Hanjin Group will secure and provide land for the new facility near Inha University Hospital, while RMHC Korea will oversee its construction and operations.
Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air, introduced the initiative at the RMHC Korea Charity Gala Dinner held on December 11.
“The new RMHC House, established in partnership with Inha University Hospital, will serve as a sanctuary for young patients and their families facing the challenges of long-term treatment,” said Cho. “We are proud to join this meaningful effort to provide comfort and support to families during a critical time in their lives.”
RMHC is a global nonprofit dedicated to children’s welfare, operating in 62 countries through a network of charitable foundations. Its flagship RMHC House program provides free accommodation for families of pediatric patients with severe conditions who require long-term hospitalization or outpatient care. Located near hospitals, these facilities help reduce the burden of travel and ensure families can remain close to their children throughout treatment.
Inha University Hospital, a premier medical institution in the region, continues to strengthen its essential medical services, particularly in specialized pediatric care. The hospital operates a government-designated Public Specialized Medical Center for Children, a 24-hour Pediatric Emergency Center, a neonatal intensive care unit and the first pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in the Incheon and northwestern Gyeonggi region.
The addition of the RMHC Inha House is expected to significantly enhance the region’s pediatric care environment and expand support of children requiring long-term treatment. It will be the second RMHC House in Korea and the first to be established in the Seoul metropolitan area.
