October 15, 2025, Athens, Greece – Cyprus Airways, the national carrier of Cyprus, in collaboration with Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, hosted an exclusive business event on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Athens Capital Hotel – MGallery Collection.
The event spotlighted Cyprus Airways’ winter flight
schedule, showcasing the airline’s expanded network from Larnaca and
reaffirming its commitment to strengthening air connectivity across the Eastern
Mediterranean. A highlight of the presentation was the airline’s enhanced Larnaca–Athens route, which continues to serve as a
cornerstone of both leisure and corporate travel between the two countries.
During the event, representatives from the Cyprus
Deputy Ministry of Tourism also introduced a selection of new winter attractions
designed to appeal to off-season travelers — from traditional Christmas markets
and island-wide festive events to mountain skiing experiences and luxurious spa
getaways at Cyprus’s leading resorts.
Cyprus Airways also announced the launch of a new
direct route between Larnaca and Heraklion, scheduled to begin operations
in December 2025. This new service will strengthen the airline’s network
across the Eastern Mediterranean, offering travelers convenient access between
Cyprus and Crete and further enhancing regional connectivity within Greece and
beyond.
The event was attended by distinguished guests,
including government officials, media representatives, travel influencers and
members of the travel industry from both Cyprus and Greece. The gathering
underscored the strong partnership between Cyprus Airways and Athens
International Airport, a collaboration that continues to enhance travel
opportunities and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Thanos Pascalis, CEO of
Cyprus Airways, commented: “Athens has always been at the heart of our network,
serving as a vital gateway that connects Cyprus with Greece and beyond. This
winter, we are strengthening that connection even further with our new
Larnaca–Heraklion service. These developments reflect our commitment to
enhancing travel options for our passengers and supporting tourism and business
ties across the Eastern Mediterranean.”
From its
hub at Larnaca International Airport, Cyprus Airways now operates a
growing European and Middle Eastern network, including destinations such as Paris,
Milan, Barcelona, Venice, Tel Aviv, Dubai, Beirut, Athens and large number of
Greek islands. The addition of Heraklion enhances this network even
further, opening access to Crete’s renowned archaeological sites, picturesque
