Today, Lufthansa celebrates 60 years connecting Singapore with Germany. Since its first flight to the Lion City in 1965, Lufthansa has been an integral part of Singapore’s aviation landscape, connecting it to the world with service and Europea efficiency. Significantly, 2025 is also Singapore’s own 60th anniversary, making this milestone even more special.
Over the decades, Lufthansa has not only provided seamless travel but also contributed to Singapore’s role as a key global hub. With a fleet of modern aircraft, state-of-the-art services, and an unwavering commitment to safety and comfort, Lufthansa has built a reputation for excellence. The airline's influence has been pivotal in enhancing both business and leisure travel, offering passengers from Singapore direct connections to major European cities and beyond. In addition to daily, direct services, Lufthansa Group has a strong partnership and Joint Venture with the premium national carrier Singapore Airlines.
According to Lufthansa Group Senior Director Sales – Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Brendan Shashoua:
“As an important gateway to the region, Singapore is integral to our Southeast Asia strategy. Coincidentally, as Singapore celebrates 60 years of independence, we also celebrate 60 years of flights to the Lion City. With an investment that goes back six decades, we now operate 20 weekly flights, connecting Singapore each day to our hubs in Frankfurt, Munich & Zurich.”
Lufthansa Group’s enduring presence stands as a symbol of strong partnerships and shared history, making this joint celebration of two 60-year milestones an important occasion. Our 60-year journey to Singapore is a remarkable testament to both the airline's legacy and the enduring bond between Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
