Demand for Vegas Strip hotel rooms remains strong

Demand for Las Vegas Strip hotel rooms shows no signs of slowing this spring, according to a Truist Securities survey. Room rates for MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment have risen, with MGM up 3% and Caesars up 6% in the first quarter, despite recession fears. "This suggests to us that recent underperformance of Buy-rated MGM stock at 2.5-year low and Caesars stock at a five-year low may be overdone -- though we are monitoring for any meaningful consumer shifts," writes Truist analyst Barry Jonas.

Rocky Mountaineer has renamed its US luxury train the Canyon Spirit and will extend its route to include Salt Lake City starting in April 2026.
