Deutsche Bahn appoints Tangerine-Mormedi partnership to design its New Gen of high-speed trains

 

LONDON – A joint bid between Internationally renowned design consultancies Tangerine and Mormedi has been selected as one of two partners to work with Deutsche Bahn over the next five years on the design of its new generation of high-speed trains. This collaborative partnership, bringing together two leading international design agencies, has been selected to design and develop concepts for Deutsche Bahn’s new high-speed trains, covering both interior and exterior livery design.

The announcement follows a rigorous year-long evaluation by Deutsche Bahn to identify the ideal design partners. The process assessed agencies on their creativity, technical expertise, depth of experience, team composition, and ability to collaborate effectively.

The Tangerine-Mormedi partnership combines decades of expertise in rail design, with both agencies having extensive experience working with operators and rolling stock manufacturers on large-scale projects within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Lead agency Tangerine boasts three decades of transport mobility design experience, having worked on numerous trains, aircraft interiors, and innovative transport seating solutions globally. Tangerine’s exceptional creative and technical expertise in rail car design and seating innovation, is combined with its ability to translate culture and brand into solutions that are right for both the operator and its customers. As part of its design team for Deutsche Bahn, Tangerine also brings rail technical expertise from Industry stalwart Charles Greenway, Director at Atlantic Design Projects Ltd.

Partner agency Mormedi brings over two decades of expertise in strategic design and innovation, having worked extensively on rail car design and customer experience projects for operators and OEMs across different markets. Mormedi’s deep understanding of passenger needs, combined with its ability to integrate sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology, ensures solutions that are both forward-thinking and impactful.

The Tangerine-Mormedi partnership emerged as a top contender, earning recognition for its process, strategic competence, storytelling, innovative approaches to seating and interiors, CMF design and material & sustainability expertise.
