The India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. a significant entity within India’s hospitality industry operating under the Ministry of Tourism, marked its observance of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from October 28 to November 3, 2024. This year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” underscored the vital role of integrity within society.
Throughout the week, various ITDC hotel units and divisions engaged in numerous activities aimed at raising awareness about corruption and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to address the issue. The Director of Finance and Chief Vigilance Officer of ITDC spearheaded an integrity pledge at the organization’s headquarters in Delhi.
Additionally, ITDC facilitated a critical session on ‘Cyber Hygiene & Security’ at the Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIHTM) located in Hotel Samrat, New Delhi. This event gathered AIHTM students and ITDC staff to discuss the importance of maintaining safety online.
Moreover, a “POSH Session” was conducted for ITDC officials to enhance understanding and compliance with the organization’s policies and regulations. A training workshop on “Preventive Vigilance” was also held at the ITDC Headquarters to educate employees on the significance of integrity in their professional conduct. One of the week’s highlights was a walkathon that brought together AIHTM students and ITDC employees, alongside a compelling street performance titled “Say No to Corruption.”
Shri Lokesh Kumar Aggarwal, Director Finance and CFO at ITDC, said, “Promoting a culture of integrity is vital for both our organization and the nation. By raising awareness about corruption and its impact, we empower people to contribute to a more transparent society.”
To involve students from AIHTM, ITDC organized a series of engaging activities, including poster creation, slogan development, essay competitions, and debates centered around the theme of combating corruption. The event culminated in a ‘Vendors Interaction Meet’, featuring discussions between ITDC officials, such as the Director of Finance and the Chief Vigilance Officer, and various vendors to explore best practices in promoting transparency and integrity.
This week-long initiative highlights ITDC’s dedication to nurturing a culture of honesty and openness, which is essential for the nation’s growth and success.
