he Regional Airline Association Congratulates Former Congressman Sean Duffy on his Nomination for Department of Transportation Secretary

The Regional Airline Association (RAA) congratulates Former Congressman Sean Duffy on his nomination to serve as the Department of Transportation (DOT) secretary. During his time in Congress, Congressman Duffy was known for promoting policies that boosted economic development, and President-elect Donald Trump recognized Congressman Duffy’s leadership in “championing the needs of families, farmers, and small businesses, especially in rural communities,” which is a central value of the RAA.

“When it comes to protecting and growing economic vitality and quality of life in small communities,” noted RAA CEO Faye Malarkey Black, “safe and reliable commercial air service is foundational. We warmly congratulate Congressman Duffy and are eager to work with him in support of safe and reliable air service to American communities of all sizes.”

Last year, regional airlines safely connected more than 121 million air travelers from nearly every U.S. airport and provided more than half of the air service in 18 states. Close to two-thirds of our nation’s airports rely on regional airlines exclusively for their connection to the global air transportation network, showing regional airlines are a driver of economic health and social well-being across the country.
