EXPERIENCE TURKS AND CAICOS TO PROMOTE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS AS PREMIER DIVE DESTINATION AT DEMA 2024

Minister of Tourism, the Hon Josephine Connolly
PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (November 12, 2024) – Experience Turks and Caicos is committed to positioning the Turks and Caicos Islands as the premier dive destination in the Caribbean while supporting the growth of our local dive tour operators.

As we make our debut at this year’s Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Show, Experience Turks and Caicos will proudly showcase the exceptional dive sites and dive businesses across our islands. Our goal is to engage travel advisors and agencies, who play a crucial role in driving bookings by helping clients plan their unforgettable dive experiences in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

DEMA will take place from November 18 to 23 in Las Vegas, USA. Mrs. Candesha Mills, Product Development Manager, and Ms. Oshin Whyte, Tourism Statistics Specialist, will represent Experience Turks and Caicos at the annual show.

The DEMA show is the premier international event for professionals in diving, travel, and action water sports, showcasing the latest industry innovations and opportunities. This year, the show will bring together more than 500 exhibitors and offer over 300 educational sessions, attracting thousands of attendees from around the world. This trade-only event serves as a hub for industry experts to connect, discover new products, place orders, and engage in valuable learning opportunities.

“The Turks and Caicos Islands is a premier diving destination. With the third-largest barrier reef in the world, a 7,000-foot wall off the coast of Grand Turk, underwater shipwrecks, and a plethora of diverse marine life, this destination has everything divers look for,” said Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Josephine Connolly.

“Diving is a billion-dollar industry that benefits the tourism industry, such as the accommodation sector, equipment suppliers, restaurants, training institutions, dive instructors, tour operators, and those offering related services. As we continue to develop our tourism product across all of our islands, diving is a niche that will be developed across the Turks and Caicos Islands and marketed to the benefit of all,” the Minister added.

Mrs. Mills noted that this will be Experience Turks and Caicos’ first attendance at DEMA.

“I am very excited for the Turks and Caicos Islands to be once again represented at this important show for the diving sector. It is time to put our destination on the map when it comes to diving, and this is the start. I would like to thank Blue Waters Divers for answering the call to be a part of our contingent, and we look forward to sharing the brochures and other promotional items of other operators in the diving sector at the show,” she said.

Experience Turks and Caicos will have a booth at DEMA where journalists, travel advisors, vendors, diving aficionados, and other attendees interested in learning more about the destination can engage with the team and forge new partnerships.
