Four Seasons Abu Dhabi celebrates Emirati Women’s Day with a captivating art exhibition featuring the vibrant works of local artist Faezeh Mohammed Hassan.
To commemorate Emirati Women’s Day, the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island is delighted to host an inspiring exhibition that features the impressive works of Emirati artist Faezeh Mohammed Hassan. The display, located in the hotel’s lobby, offers visitors the chance to explore the artistic expression and creativity of Emirati women.
Faezeh Mohammed Hassan’s artwork is a passionate expression of plein-air painting, vividly capturing the effervescent hues and lively illumination of the outdoors. Her preference for ochre not only brings warmth and joy to her paintings but also mirrors the scenic beauty and cultural essence of the UAE. Faezeh skillfully merges elements of realism with Orientalist influences, and her pieces celebrate the rich cultural heritage and the influential roles of Emirati women by depicting their everyday lives and historical experiences. Drawing inspiration from artists like Gustave Bauernfeind, Ludwig Deutsch, and Rudolf Hellgrewe, and iconic locations such as the Khorfakkan Fortress, her creations are both evocative and mesmerizing.
One of the exhibition’s standout pieces is a portrait of Ousha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi, a pioneer in Nabati poetry whose works have left a lasting impact on the UAE’s literary scene. Born in Al Ain in 1920, Ousha was a prodigious talent who overcame societal hurdles in a predominantly male literary world. Her enduring legacy continues to influence and empower a new generation of female poets.
Adding to the cultural celebration, Executive Pastry Chef Partha Pratim Bose from the Four Seasons has designed a special afternoon tea, available at Al Meylas during the exhibition. This refined culinary offering includes a variety of treats that incorporate local tastes, complementing the celebration of Emirati women’s accomplishments.
The exhibition and the special afternoon tea, both honoring the artistic and cultural contributions of Emirati women, will be open from August 28 to September 28, 2024. This period presents a unique opportunity to engage with Emirati culture and the art of Faezeh Mohammed Hassan.
Event Dates: Wednesday, August 28 to Saturday, September 28, 2024
Afternoon Tea Price: AED 230 per person
