Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers Announces New Executive Committee for 2024-2026

The Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) recently unveiled its new Executive Committee during the Annual General Meeting held on May 23, 2024, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Leadership has transitioned to Datuk Dr M Gandhi, Founder and Chairman of Bumiati Holding Sdn Bhd, who will guide MACEOS for the 2024/2026 term, succeeding the former President Francis Teo.

During the transition, Teo warmly congratulated Datuk Dr M Gandhi and reflected on his tenure: “The support and collaboration from all members during my time as president were instrumental. Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have come through as a stronger community, achieving significant growth and resilience.”

At the meeting, Teo reviewed significant accomplishments under his leadership from 2020 to 2024. Notable achievements included the creation of the MACEOS Strategic Roadmap 2022-2030, the introduction of the SafeBE certification program to navigate through the pandemic safely, and the successful launch of the first Business Events Forum in Sabah.

Datuk Dr M Gandhi, MACEOS President 2024/2026
Newly-elected President, Datuk Dr M Gandhi said, “In assuming the Presidency of MACEOS, I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support received. I commend the efforts of past committees and intend to build upon their success. My focus will be on expanding market opportunities for the benefit of all stakeholders, through collaborative efforts with the Government and other industry associations. With Malaysia set to chair ASEAN in 2025, it is the perfect time for our association to actively engage in fostering collaboration with fellow ASEAN nations, driving social, economic, and trade cooperation forward with Business Events.”

Azman Tambi Chik, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Datuk Dr M Gandhi on being elected as the President of MACEOS for the 2024/2026 term, as well as to the new Exco lineup. “MyCEB has always been committed to supporting the growth and success of the Business Events industry and its players.
