Named in memory of the parents of Dr. Kostas Iatrou, Katerina and George Iatrou, the Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by Dr. Iatrou’s two teenage sons, George and Yiannis, in honor of their grandparents' legacy.
Calio has been instrumental in advocating for U.S. airlines both domestically and internationally since joining A4A in 2011. Under his leadership, Airlines for America played a leadership role in working with Congress, the Administration, labor and industry partners to ensure the survival of the airline industry during the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent recovery. Today, the U.S. airline industry is seeing record air travel, employing more people than ever before and transporting millions of tons of cargo around the world, all while remaining the safest mode of transportation.
