More than 100 passengers have fallen ill on a Cunard cruise, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.
While a norovirus gastro bug is suspected, CDC officials says it remains an ‘unknown cause.’
The CDC said 120 passengers and 15 crew members have fallen ill with symptoms including diarrhea and vomiting.
Cunard’s Queen Victoria departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 22, and after a Panama Canal transit, is set to arrive in Honolulu on February 12.
Although the official cause is unknown, Cunard has conducted additional health and sanitation protocols, with disinfecting surfaces and isolating passengers.
The ship has a capacity for just over 2,000 guests.
Queen Victoria recently passed its latest CDC check with a high sanitation score of 95 out of 100.
