Seabourn quest introduces ‘Solis’: A feast of fresh Mediterranean flavors

 

Seabourn, a leader in ultra-luxury voyages and expedition travel, has introduced a new dining experience called Solis on Seabourn Quest, starting January 20, 2024. This fine dining restaurant celebrates Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the destinations visited by Seabourn’s ultra-luxury ships, featuring fresh and vibrant dishes prepared daily with a modern touch. The Solis dining experience will be extended to Seabourn Ovation, Seabourn Encore, and Seabourn Sojourn by Spring 2024.

Solis, Seabourn’s latest fine dining establishment, is dedicated to celebrating Mediterranean cuisine influenced by the unique locations visited by the cruise line’s ultra-luxury ships. The inaugural Solis opened its doors on Seabourn Quest on January 20, 2024.

Crafted to engage all the senses, Solis aims to transport guests to the Mediterranean through delightful culinary surprises. The restaurant promises whimsical cocktails, vibrant plating, and flavor combinations that are both familiar and elevated. Guests will enjoy these offerings within a redesigned dining space that captures the essence of the Mediterranean sunset.


“There’s no better way to start a new year than by unveiling a new fine dining experience, and the debut of Solis is a milestone that guests of Seabourn Quest are going to enjoy and remember,” said Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn. “Every dish and drink at Solis have been carefully created to reflect the inspirations from the places we visit, while the design and ambiance of the dining room set the perfect Mediterranean atmosphere combined with Seabourn style for guests to enjoy during their dining experience.”

Solis, inspired by the Mediterranean region, offers refreshing, light, and healthy dishes celebrating culinary cultures from various Mediterranean destinations. The menus showcase colorful dishes inspired by the Rivieras, the central Mediterranean and Greek flavors in the Eastern Mediterranean. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor, presentation, artistry, and a narrative of travel memories. Solis will feature signature dishes and imaginative specials, changing daily based on ingredients found during chefs’ visits to local markets on port days. The menu will also include a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.

The Solis experience extends to a refined vintage-inspired cocktail menu, featuring classic cocktails meticulously crafted to perfection. From the Americano and Bellini to the Negroni, the menu ensures that every drink is a masterpiece of flavors and aesthetics.

Solis is the brainchild of Master Chef and Culinary Partner Anton “Tony” Egger, in collaboration with Senior Corporate Chef Franck Salein, who drew inspiration from feedback from Seabourn guests. A survey revealed that Mediterranean cuisine was the preferred choice for a new restaurant, with “fresh and healthy” themes ranking highest among guests’ favored attributes for dishes. Egger and Salein, known for their culinary expertise honed at Michelin-starred restaurants globally, previously conceptualized popular onboard dining concepts, Earth + Ocean and Sushi.

Guests can experience Solis by making dinner reservations, with one visit allotted per guest every seven days to ensure all onboard guests have an opportunity to enjoy the new dining experience.
