Marriott remains leader in hotel loyalty members
Marriott International has the most members of any hotel loyalty program at 192 million, a 60% increase over the past five years, while Hilton Hotels earned the top spot in growth during the same period, boosting its membership 110% to 173 million. Other large hotel groups, including Hyatt Hotels Corp., Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Choice Hotels International, also had sign-up gains of 110%, 78% and 54%, respectively.

More hotels are accommodating guests who are gluten-free with special menu items or the ability to modify dishes, such as CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa in Carefree, Ariz., which offers a Southwestern cobb salad, a superfoods bowl and a Green Goddess smoothie, and New York City's NoMo SoHo, with selections like grilled fish tacos, sweet pea risotto and a Bibb salad with Asian pears. Other properties that have elevated their gluten-free offerings include the Art of Living Retreat Center in Boone, N.C.; the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, N.C.; and Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos in Mexico.

Chamonix Casino Hotel has made its debut in Cripple Creek, Colo., with the new venue including a high-limit slots room, a table games area, a 300-room hotel and a temporary restaurant and buffet. The casino-hotel, owned by Full House Resorts, will add other amenities this year, such as a jewelry and luxury retail store, an upscale restaurant overseen by Las Vegas celebrity chef Barry Dakake and a spa with a rooftop pool and deck, a full-service salon, saunas and massage rooms. A 90-room Tempo by Hilton will be coming to the Farm Brew Live mixed-use development near Manassas, Va., in mid-2025 in a strategic joint partnership with Villagio Hospitality Group. The 60,000-square-foot hotel will feature high-end food and beverage outlets, including a speakeasy and wine bar, along with an open lobby design and communal spaces for relaxation and work.
