The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) kicked off the year on a high note, making a significant impact with a successful trade mission to Jakarta, Indonesia. The primary objective was to forge a substantial partnership with Asosia Travel Agent Indonesia (ASTINDO), solidified by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC). MyCEB also made a noteworthy visit to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Jakarta.
In a bid to strengthen these recently established partnerships, the CEO of MyCEB enthusiastically revealed the official initiation of a new collaboration. “I am pleased to unveil our latest partnership sealed through the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Asosia Travel Agent Indonesia (ASTINDO).” This newly established relationship will empower us to achieve mutually beneficial objectives for both Malaysia and Indonesia. These include the revitalization of our countries’ business events industry, facilitating knowledge exchange, and exploring opportunities for further business cooperation,” stated Mr. Azman Haji Tambi Chik.
The MoC serves as a strategic framework, outlining key areas of collaboration between MyCEB and ASTINDO. This includes joint marketing and promotional efforts for the business events sector, with an expectation to co-develop leads through the exchange of market intelligence on campaigns, initiatives, programs, and projects.
Mrs. Pauline Suharno, President of ASTINDO, expressed optimism about the strategic step, stating, “The MoC with MyCEB signifies a crucial move towards revitalizing our countries’ business events industries. We anticipate generating quality leads and aim to create a dynamic and resilient ecosystem that will drive the industry’s growth in both regions.”
In the pursuit of strengthening regional ties, Malaysia engaged in a constructive dialogue with Drs. Vinsensius Jemadu, Deputy Minister for Tourism Product and Events at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Republic of Indonesia. The Ministry expressed strong support for collaborative efforts in building a robust ASEAN Business Events (BE) community between Indonesia and Malaysia.
The envisioned ASEAN BE community seeks to enhance regional ties, promote economic growth, and elevate the overall profile of the business events industry across Southeast Asia. This endorsement reflects a shared commitment to fostering cross-border collaboration, positioning the region as a prominent hub for international business events activities.
During the enriching three-day visit, MyCEB also took the opportunity to collaborate with the Indonesian Exhibition Companies Association (IECA-ASPERAPI), laying the groundwork for future collaborative ventures in the dynamic landscape of international business events.
Mr. Hosea Andreas Runkat, Chairman of IECA-ASPERAPI, expressed pride in witnessing the Bureau’s dedication to building global connections, stating, “This trade mission is a testament to a productive long-term partnership and the importance of cross-border collaboration in revitalizing and expanding the business events sector.”
