The 135,500-tonne Adora Magic City departed Shanghai on a week-long cruise to South Korea and Japan.
The ship was originally a joint venture partnership with China State Shipbuilding Corp and Carnival Corporation.
Built specifically for the Asia market, it houses 20 restaurants and bars, a 1,000-seat theatre and shopping centre.
It can accommodate over 5,000 guests.
