EasyJet confirms big Airbus aircraft order

 

Plane maker Airbus has bagged another mammoth aircraft order from leisure carrier easyJet.

The airline will order 157 A320neo family aircraft comprising 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo planes.

It is also converting an existing order of 35 A320neos to A321neo planes.

It is all part of easyJet’s fleet renewal plan.

EasyJet already has 69 A320neo family aircraft in its fleet.

Airline CEO Johan Lundgren said: “This significant order not only enables easyJet to replace older aircraft, but also provides us the ability for disciplined growth.”

“The UK is one of the best places to invest, and this deal for easyJet is another shot in the arm for UK manufacturing,” said Minister for Industry and Economic Security Nusrat Ghani.

The new aircraft order will be delivered between FY2029 and FY2034.
