African tourists are the prime force for Kenya travel revival

African tourists are the main driving force for reviving the tourism sector of Kenya as intra-regional travel broadens, on Wednesday, a government official said about the same.

The cabinet secretary in the tourism ministry in Nairobi, Peninah Malonza, said that Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Ghana are fast coming up as major source markets for the tourism industry of Kenya.

The performance of the African countries is evidence to the hugely unexplored possibilities within their East African region and Africa in general, said Malonza in front of a media briefing on the imminent third East Africa regional tourism expo in Kenya that is all set to take place from Nov. 20th till 22nd .

The tourism is one of the leading sources of international exchanges of Kenya, as per the ministry, together with diaspora payments, tea exports and horticulture.

The travel trade fair which will be of three-day will attract over 200 regional, local and tour operators, agents, destination agencies from abroad, and innumerable other players in the tourism to link and ease businesses related to tourism.
