Travel job placements rise in June

The number of travel job candidates placed in new positions has risen for the second consecutive month, according to the latest data from C&M Travel Recruitment.

However, June’s increase of 3% means that activity levels remained lower than in previous years.

It is with a fall of 52%from June 2022, and down 30% from pre-pandemic 2019.

The month saw a small fall in the number of new candidates searching for travel jobs, with a drop of 11% from May.

It was down by just 1% from June 2022, yet up by 21% from June 2019.

The number of new jobs being created in the travel industry fell back in June by 40% from May.

Vacancy numbers slipped by 27% compared to the same month in 2022.

Barbara Kolosinska, MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “It’s always great to see a rise in the number of candidates being placed in new travel roles.”

“While activity levels are down from last year, this allows us to spend more time focusing on each role and finding the perfect candidate.”

“Things have now reduced to a more manageable level from 2022, and with salaries continuing to rise, there are many, many opportunities for quality applicants.”

“With summer now in full flow, we expect activity to remain around this level until it picks up in September.”
