This total exceeds the record set during pre-pandemic times in Fiscal Year 2019.
Illinois welcomed 111 million visitors in 2022. They had spent $44 billion last year.
Governor JB Pritzker said that he is quite proud to declare that Illinois, in the fiscal year, saw the uppermost hotel revenue numbers ever. He said that rise in tourism means millions of new tourists coming to the state and exploring all the great things that are there to see, helping small businesses
as well as local economies to go a long way.
He also added that whether they’re a life-long occupant of the Land of Lincoln, keen on exploring their own state in a different way, or an outsider visitor inquisitive to find out the fresh new entertainment, tantalizing gastronomic delights, or all the great shopping attractions, they’re all here to welcome everyone.
Their highest hospitality revenue ever collected is evidence that they are really in the center of the whole thing, and their management is ambitious to carry on helping the locals and the economies that make their state a world-class destination for tourism.
