Fraport Greece introduces new incentive to extend the tourist season

Fraport Greece is steadfast in its commitment to support Greek tourism and actively contributes to the national endeavor of extending the tourist season. To attract more passengers during the off-peak months, the company is implementing new development incentives.

This initiative builds upon a program introduced in 2018 that is still in effect, focusing on the introduction of new international routes during the winter months.

With the needs of airlines and the strategic promotion of Fraport Greece's 14 destinations in mind, these incentive offers a significant subsidy on airport charges ranging from 25% to 50%. The goal is to encourage airlines to start their flight projects earlier or even extend them beyond the peak season. The incentives will be effective from October 2023 and will cover the months of October, November, March, and April.

On the occasion of the introduction of this specific development incentive, Mr. George Vilos, the Executive Director, Commercial & Business Development of Fraport Greece, stated: "Extending the tourist season is a national objective. Since taking over the management of the 14 airports, promoting the destinations we serve in foreign markets and reducing seasonality have been our strategic priorities. In response to the demands of airlines and local communities, we have designed these new development incentives to effectively support the national effort in attracting additional tourists during the months of low demand."
