VisitEngland announces 15 local visitor economy partnerships

VisitEngland has announced 12 additional destinations that have gained Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) status, in addition to the three North East Destination Development Partnership (DDP) pilot LVEPs that were announced earlier this year.

The LVEP programme is part of the UK government’s efforts to reshape destination management across England by reducing fragmentation and bringing coherence to its DMO landscape.

VisitEngland has developed and administered the national portfolio of strategic and high-performing LVEPs to support collaborative working locally and nationally on shared priorities and targets to grow the local visitor economy.

The new LVEPs include Marketing Cheshire, Experience Oxfordshire, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Visit Hull and East Yorkshire, Visit West, Marketing Manchester, Visit Peak District, Derbyshire and Derby, Visit Hertfordshire, Visit Kent, Liverpool City Region, Cumbria Tourism, and Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country.

The LVEPs will work closely with VisitEngland, receiving support from a team of five new Regional Development Leads, and access to expert advice, dedicated toolkits and training programmes, as well as highlighting available government funding streams.

The LVEP programme aims to transform the visitor economy in England in an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable way, ensuring that England remains a compelling destination for domestic and international visitors in the years to come.
