Epic premiere of Taiwan tourism as Asia’s featured destination

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) is pleased to announce Taiwan as Asia’s Featured Destination for MATTA Fair on March 17-19, 2023 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

The 52nd edition of the MATTA Fair occupies 32 booths from the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in the International Halls (Level 2) and will include various discounts and bargains on their packages, which will attract more bargain hunters and travel aficionados.

Taiwan has been nominated for the Asia’s Featured Destination award for the past four MATTA Fairs, including the MATTA Fair March 2019, MATTA Fair March 2017, MATTA Fair September 2017, and MATTA Fair September 2018.

530,000 Malaysian visitors visited Taiwan in 2019, more than any other Southeast Asian country, and because 60 percent of Malaysia’s population is Muslim, Taiwan has the potential to attract a large Muslim demographic. In 2019, there were 382,916 Taiwanese visitors to Malaysia.

In promoting the desire to travel and the significance of doing so, MATTA expects that the two-way tourist flow between two nations will increase over time. The significance of this partnership is to facilitate the sharing of travel information and showcase the extraordinary experiences that travelers may have.

At the travel fair, the Taiwan Pavilion will host a number of engaging activities and events, such as “Fun to Art,” which combines traditional Taiwanese dance with modern elements to create a unique artistic expression.

Visitors can also participate in a range of do-it-yourself activities, such as creating citrus essential oil cleaners and Taiwan-shaped biscuit dough decorations.

While enjoying fun, they can also enjoy a range of flavored and shaped Taiwanese sweets.

The relationship between MATTA Fair and Taiwan Tourism contributes greatly to the latter’s promotional efforts, as this expo is an excellent venue for showcasing Taiwan’s culture and breath-taking places to Malaysian tourists.

It is free admission to the Fair and it is open from 10am-9pm for the three days, Friday to Sunday.

To reiterate, very frequent shuttle service to MITEC will be provided from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall.
