TIS – Tourism Innovation Summit 2023 sets new dates for Seville

TIS – Tourism Innovation Summit 2023 announced at the recent FITUR show in Spain its new dates for TIS 2023 – 18-20 October, again in Seville.

Organisers say exhibition space will increase to over 10,000sqm as exhibitors showcase the latest solutions and innovations on tech and sustainability to transform the tourism sector.

A Travel Revolution Takes Off is going to be the leitmotiv of TIS 2023, organisers say, adding that, according to the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), more than 900 million international tourists will be recorded in 2022, double the number in 2021.

Although the figure is still 63% of pre-pandemic levels, 1.5 billion travellers travelled in 2019.

As the Chinese borders open again, there will inevitably be debate in the industry over how destinations and tourism businesses can benefit from inbound Asian tourists, particularly as the travel experience becomes more exceptional and personalised.

Silvia Avilés, Director of TIS said that they are taking off with the tourism revolution in a moment when, for the very first time since the pandemic, the industry is opening up to the whole world.

For the first time we will be able to have significant representation from Asia Pacific at Tourism Innovation Summit and we will continue to build a solid bridge between Europe and American tourism.

Tourism Innovation Summit was held for the first time in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, becoming an international benchmark for holding events with a safety protocol for all attendees.

Since then, TIS has brought together more than 6,000 congress participants and more than 300 experts from all over the world to promote the reactivation of the industry at a decisive moment with technology as an ally.

In addition, more than 150 leading firms showcased the latest solutions in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Big Data & Analytics, Marketing Automation, contactless technology and Predictive Analytics, among others, to drive growth in the tourism sector.

Now TIS returns as its annual event in a year where the city of Seville has been named the European Capital of Smart Tourism by the European Commission alongside with Paphos (Cyprus).
