Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 14 December 2022: The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) UAE is now welcoming applications for the REPs Industry Awards 2023, an event designed to celebrate excellence across the Emirates’ fitness sector.
Hosted in conjunction with Dubai Sports Council, the event’s Official Partner, winners in each awards category will be announced at a gala dinner on 9 February 2023. In addition to recognising individuals and businesses for their contributions to health, fitness and wellness in the Emirates, the awards will mark the 10th anniversary of REPs UAE.
As a benchmark for standards and performance within the nation’s fitness industry, the event has been designed to showcase and reward those who exemplify best practice and exceptional customer experience. The awards will also offer a platform for REPs UAE and its partners to promote physical activity across the Emirates.
Naser Al Tamimi, CEO of REPs UAE, commented: “We are thrilled to open nominations for the REPs Industry Awards 2023, which will provide an opportunity to celebrate the incredible achievements of health, fitness and wellness professionals across the Emirates. We are also immensely grateful to Dubai Sports Council, who have been supportive throughout the planning and delivery process.”
The REPs Industry Awards 2023 will comprise a selection of individual, facilities, and business and initiative categories. Individual awards will be presented to the winning personal trainer, transformation coach, group exercise instructor, Pilates instructor, yoga teacher, fitness manager, general manager, educator, unsung hero and social media influencer. The facilities categories cover front-of-house experience-reception teams, yoga studios, Pilates studios, boutique studios, ladies' gyms, and small and large fitness clubs. Business and initiative accolades will be awarded for the best group fitness class, the best use of technology in a gym or studio, and the fitness event of the year.
REPs UAE has enlisted the support of numerous high-profile industry leaders to judge applications for each award category. REPs UAE will also be seeking the assistance of international judges to ensure there is absolutely no conflict of interest.
In addition to written applications, the panel will evaluate submissions through a combination of live judging and ‘mystery shopper’ activities. As experts in their respective fields, each judge has been selected and invited based on their extensive knowledge of their assigned categories.
The application window for the REPs Industry Awards 2023 will remain open until 20 January, a week ahead of the event’s official judging day. Finalists will be announced on the 24th of January and the winners of each category will be announced during an exclusive gala dinner, which will take place at Address Sky View Hotel in Dubai on 9 February.
Catherine Hanson Farid, Director of Operations at REPs UAE and Chair of the International Confederation of Registers of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs), said: “We have already received a broad range of high-quality entries across multiple categories, so our industry judges are going to have their work cut out for them. My colleagues and I cannot wait to welcome the finalists to the grand finale in February. It’s certain to be a night to remember.”
