JBI softened and brightened the atrium’s overall look by layering it in light woods, lush greenery, glowing light pendants and inviting soft furnishings.
To create moments of intimacy within the large setting, the firm designed wooden trellises to frame individual spaces such as Capital A Bar & Restaurant and President’s House Coffee.
The atrium now feels eclectic, youthful, and inviting and offers ample space for gatherings of all kinds—from brainstorming with colleagues, to working remotely and to enjoying a drink with friends.
Atrium lobby
- Tasked with connecting its new designs for the public spaces designs with the existing guestroom designs
- Brought in in lighter wood tones and kept existing flooring while creating an elevated seating and reception
experience - Played with reveals, and mixing mirrors & woods to make the overall space feel dynamic as the overall size is
smaller than a typical hotel lobby
Capital A Bar & Restaurant
- The main design challenge was to create an intimate and inviting space within the airy and spacious atrium
- Played with open trellises and canopies to create divisions and to keep an open feel
- The approachable design and sophisticated feel suits the venue as it changes from work lunches to happy hours
and more - Carefully chose finishes that connected/cohesive with the existing atrium
President’s House Coffee
- The main design challenge was to create an intimate and inviting space within the airy and spacious atrium
- As the space was to be more private than a restaurant and bar, JBI created a whole room within the atrium
- The design and flow conveniently allow guests to be able to sit-and-work or grab-and-go while feeling a
connection to the surrounding greenery and local Austin feel
Guadeloupe Meeting Room
- Designed to be a flexible space that can hold different types of meetings
- Featuring playful stools and sculptural chairs, the diverse seating concept can create a large-scale meeting or more
intimate meeting - Playful shapes and negative spaces make the meeting room more fun than corporate
- 1,250 sq. ft.
