Following a two-year hiatus, the Greek Film Festival will make its much-awaited return to Australian screens with an action-filled lineup of acclaimed features. The 2022 Festival opens its doors on Thursday, October 13, in Melbourne and Sydney, continuing into Adelaide, Brisbane, and Canberra through November, greekcitytimes.com reports.
Headlining the Festival this year is the celebrated film Eftihia, inspired by the life of Eftihia Papagiannopoulou. This lyricist created a massive volume of timeless popular songs set to music by Tsitsanis, Kaldaras, Hiotis, and Hadjidakis, amongst others.
The diverse festival line-up of 13 narrative features, four documentaries, and the Student Film Festival will transport Greek film lovers to new heights, highlighting ambitious, local Greek art with a cinematic flare leaving you wanting more.
