Post pandemic, tourism of Jamaica is about to reach its full revival

Jamaica has endured the adversities enforced by COVID-19 and its tourism sector has revived completely, as per a recent press release.

Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Mr. Edmund Bartlett, confirmed about the revival in a meeting with members of a special team from the Republic of Namibia, headed by the Minister in the Presidency, Christine || Hoebes.

As per a declaration published by the Jamaican Ministry of Tourism, Bartlett established the fact that Jamaica in 2022 anticipates attracting well over three million visitors with expected earnings of almost $100 million, which is below the best earnings of the country in 2019 of $3.7 billion.

Also, the Minister explained that the prime source markets of Jamaica are fast getting well from the ill effects of the pandemic. Besides, he observed that the United Kingdom is the sole market where Jamaica is surpassing the figures of 2019, noting that the country is six percent in advance in the market of the UK compared to pre-Covid figures.

Earlier this week, the conference with team members came after a congregation of the Jamaica/Namibia Joint Committee, where contracts were signed in different areas, like logistics, tourism, urban development, and Diaspora cooperation.

The Minister also said that the United States has made a powerful return in the area and that based on the recovery of Jamaica tourism, they can give their lending hand and support in terms of the recovery program of Namibia.
