The UNWTO’s 7th edition of the Global Conference on Wine Tourism will be organized in La Rioja.
At the Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture, this new edition was presented where the participation of the President of the Government of La Rioja Concha Andreu, Reyes Maroto, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization was seen.
On trends, tools and opportunities, this conference has become the most important international forum to take wine tourism to the next level.
For experts and professionals, along with the consolidated and emerging destinations the conference gives a chance in this tourism segment to share knowledge and experiences together.
The official presentation was arranged at the Vivanco facilities in Briones. During this time, Pololikashvili commended Spain and La Rioja for arranging the conference’s 2023 edition and threw light on the possibility of wine tourism as it acts as a major driver for the growth and development of the local economy and as an engine of social change.
This sector can cause a positive change, particularly in several rural communities, generating job opportunities in the most remote areas, and improving financial growth and safeguarding the natural and cultural environment.
The minister highlighted that wine tourism has the potential to contribute to the social, economic, environmental sustainability and adds value.
The President of La Rioja emphasized that the hosting of the Conference entails for the tourist development of the region.
