The Journey to More Sustainable Corporate Travel and Meetings Management Programs: Results from GBTA Research

Priorities: Is sustainability a priority for companies? Is it a priority for corporate travel and meetings programs specifically? Do some types of companies prioritize sustainability more than other companies?

• Emission targets: Do companies have organization-wide carbon emission reduction targets? Do they have targets specifically for corporate travel, or company-hosted meetings and events?
• Sustainable travel management: Are companies interested in travel-related sustainability measures? Examples include purchasing carbon offsets or sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), imposing an internal carbon tax on business travel, prioritizing lower emission flights, and revising travel policies.
• Sustainable meetings management: How often do companies have sustainability measures in place for company-hosted meetings and events? Examples include composting, using recyclable packaging, and serving locally sourced food.
• Sustainable supplier sourcing: To what extent do companies consider sustainability measures when selecting suppliers including hotels and meeting venues? Do companies include sustainability-related questions in their RFPs?
