Princess Cruises is changing its itineraries on 24 cruises that would have halted at St. Petersburg in Russia with alternative ports as Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine. Stockholm and Visby in Sweden, and Gdansk (Gdynia), Poland will be amongst the alternative ports in the travel itinerary.
Princess Cruise has also stated that the safety and security of guests is the company’s highest priority. The critical role of the travel agents are also recognized by Princess Cruise and their commissions will be paid in full in lieu of the important services that they provide to the company.
The port of St. Petersburg hosted 647,640 passengers during the 250 cruise ship calls in 2019. But, however this year the port will probably be deserted. Princess cruise like many companies have decided to stop conducting business with many Russian ports and businesses. It has replaced calls to St. Petersburg with a number of different ports in the Baltic.
The cruise ships named Enchanted Princess, Island Princess, and Sky Princess. The Sky Princess cruises that have been affected include a 28-Day Iceland, Norway & Baltic cruise lines sailing June 25 and three 14-Day Baltic Heritage cruises.
The sister brand Regent Seven Seas Cruises has decided to remove the Solovetsky Islands, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk and St. Petersburg, Russia and Odesa, Ukraine from its itinerary.
