The existing travel restrictions pertaining to the COVID-19 restrictions may be scrapped in a matter of days. This will boost the travel around the Easter holidays. The passenger locator forms may be made a relic of the past, by the cabinet ministers and a scheduled committee meeting is to be held the next week.
As stress-free travel looks promising ahead of the Easter break, the testing for the unvaccinated passengers is also up for consideration. Anyone returning to the United Kingdom only needs to fill in a Passenger Locator Form, as per the current regulations, if they are fully vaccinated.
The pre-arrival COVID-19 tests and day 2 COVID-19 test requirements were scrapped earlier this month. This makes it easier and cheaper for families to return from their holidays. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, in a recent statement, has said that they are trying to scrap the Passenger Locator Forms in their entirety, even though they had been simplified.
Various airlines and tour operators have requested that the current travel restrictions be removed and the pre-Covid travel norms be restored.
