For the revival, peace and mutual understanding are the necessary components. This is the time to work together with tactic and diplomacy instead of fighting. We must not let tensions related to politics to turn into a man-made crisis that will weaken our joint growth and development.
To build understanding, tourism is the primary link. It has a unique skill to endorse peace between and among peoples all over the world.
In his call, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) stands firmly with António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, for all countries to resolve disagreements with the help of peace and not through quarrel, and that they respect international security and justice at all times.
Giving a voice to people of different regions, backgrounds and nationalities, as a part of the UN, UNWTO also considers that the spirit of international solidarity and shared values that describe not just tourism but also common humanity. We also hope that diplomatic efforts to avoid conflict continue and succeed.
