ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference: the technical and commercial meeting place for the aviation industry

The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference is the premier and longest-standing maintenance and technical purchasing conference within the aviation industry in Latin America & the Caribbean, recognized for bringing together each year a large number of airlines and suppliers’ representatives who develop networking, share best practices and work together on solutions for air transport. In 2021, the conference brought together more than 500 participants: 100 airline representatives and more than 400 representatives of technology, parts, and service suppliers; being a meeting that contributed to the boost recovery of aviation in the region.

This event is organized by ALTA jointly with ALTA’s Maintenance and Technical Purchasing Committees, both made up of airlines, and with the Suppliers Steering Committee, an organization that represents the supplier companies and which aims to advise the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference in its planning, organization and execution, so that the voice of suppliers is heard by the Conference organizers.

José Ricardo Botelho, ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO, stated that “the conference keeps relevant after its 70 years of history, out of which 17 it has been organized by ALTA. This conference considers the priorities and interests of airlines and suppliers in order to bring them closer together in the joint search for efficient solutions. The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference succeeds in uniquely networking the technical players of air transport and has done so continuously, even in 2020, a year when no face-to-face events were held because of the pandemic, demonstrating the very high value of this event for its participants and for the industry.”

In 2022, the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference will be held in Cartagena, Colombia, from May 15 to 17.

Alex de Gunten, SVP at HEICO and President of the Suppliers Steering Committee, stressed that “by 2022 we expect the industry to continue its recovery path, so suppliers will be there to support airlines and together we will move forward, demonstrating the resilience of aviation. This event is always the meeting spot for suppliers and airlines, and it is from here that solutions emerge that generate benefits for all.”
