With weekend lockdown once again returning to Jammu and Kashmir due to a spike in COVID cases, the Tourism Department of Kashmir has asked for hassle-free travel of tourists “so that there is no negative impact on the tourism sector.”
In a communique shot to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Director Tourism Kashmir, G N Itoo said that the latest weekend lockdown is expected to pose difficulties to tourists who have already arrived in the Valley or are planning their travel and following a preplanned itinerary with bookings at the relevant tourist destinations.
As per the communique, tourists are permitted to visit their respective destinations although they are strictly following the required SOPs.
The Director Tourism has asked for directions from the Div Com office to the concerned Deputy Commissioners to make sure that tourists can travel hassle-free, “so that there is no negative impact on the tourism sector.”
“Otherwise, a smooth movement of tourists in the valley is being ensured while following COVID Appropriate Behavior,” said too.
