ITA Airways and TAP Air Portugal have signed a codeshare agreement connecting Italy and Portugal through the networks of the two airlines. Thanks to this commercial partnership, which first day of operations is the 15th November, ITA Airways will expand its commercial offer to Portugal, incrementing and developing new flows of leisure and business traffic.
ITA Airways will apply its codes on flights operated by TAP between Rome, Milan, Venice and Lisbon, allowing its customers to fly directly between the two countries. Likewise, TAP Air Portugal will code share ITA Airways flights on 13 connecting Italian domestic destinations beyond Rome Fiumicino Airport.
Following this agreement, ITA Airways and TAP Air Portugal’s customers can now fly seamlessly to their chosen destinations with a single ‘unique’ ticket, checking in at the airport of departure, and collecting their checked-through baggage at the end of their trip in the arrival airport.
The codeshare flights are now available for sale through the airlines’ respective websites (ita-airways.com and flytap.com), reservation systems and in travel agencies.
“Our Code Share partnership with TAP Portugal begins today, making a step forward with our strategy to increase the commercial agreements with major international airlines”, said Emiliana Limosani Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways. “For ITA Airways, TAP Portugal represents the gateway to Portugal, a wonderful country full of opportunities to boost business and leisure trips. I’m sure that this partnership is an added value for our passengers travel choice”
