Princess Cruises has successfully completed its first cruise from the United States since the industry shutdown in early 2020.
Majestic Princess returned to Seattle on Sunday, marking the end of its first sailing to Alaska. The vessel became Princess’ first vessel to resume service in the U.S., kicking off a partial season of Alaska cruises that will depart through September 26.
The seven-night roundtrip sailing visited Glacier Bay National Park, Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan.
“Welcome back to Princess, is what I said to our guests while I was cruising with them onboard Majestic Princess for our first Return to Alaska cruise,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. “From the very beginning, Alaska has been at the core of Princess Cruises and has really helped shaped the very essence of who we are today. While visiting ports of call, I personally expressed my gratitude to our port partners and elected officials who were instrumental in our return and joined me in warmly welcoming guests to their picturesque communities.”
In addition to port visits, guests sailing Majestic Princess this summer will enjoy Alaska-themed activities onboard including talks with local authors, artists, and adventurists and a Midnight Sun experience in The Sanctuary with a guitar vocalist.
Guests will also enjoy fresh, locally-caught seafood onboard such as King crab, halibut, and salmon. At the ship’s top deck grill, local restaurants will provide some of their speciality dishes for passengers including seafood chowder from Bonanza Bar and Grill in Skagway and fish tacos from The Alaska Fish House in Ketchikan.

This fall, Princess Cruises will resume sailing from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexico, Hawaii, and the California coast.
Through at least the end of 2021, Princess Cruises are only available to passengers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
