New study by AdvisorSmith discovers average cost of travel insurance

The latest study found the average cost of travel insurance in the U.S. We used quote estimates from 53 different travel insurance policies to find the average price of travel insurance and the average cost by the trip, age, number of travelers, and coverage level. From their research, they discovered:

• The average cost of travel insurance in the U.S. is $95.
• The average price of travel insurance is significantly higher for older travelers in their 70s, 80s, and 90s. 
• Adults traveling with children or another adult can expect to pay more for travel insurance than those traveling solo.
